Sustainable
At Club Tihany Resort, we understand that protecting our environment is key to the sustainability of our business and future generations. Therefore, we have taken several steps to reduce our ecological footprint and promote environmentally conscious operations.
Energy management
We have made outstanding investments in energy management, including the installation of photovoltaic systems, which significantly reduce our dependence on fossil energy. These systems allow us to produce our own energy from renewable sources, which is not only environmentally friendly but also cost-effective. In terms of the breakdown of our annual electricity consumption, we are proud that 12% of the energy we use already comes from renewable sources, a proportion we aim to increase further in the coming years.
Water management
To protect water as a precious resource, we have introduced a number of measures to significantly reduce water consumption. These include the installation of water-saving devices, information campaigns to promote water-conscious behaviour, and the installation of rainwater harvesting systems to provide the water needed to irrigate gardens and green spaces.
Waste management
In the area of waste management, we are committed to reducing and recycling waste. We have introduced selective waste collection and a composting programme to reuse green waste. These measures not only reduce the pressure on landfills, but also promote an environmentally conscious mindset.
Carbon emissions
We continuously monitor and assess the environmental impact of our activities to reduce carbon emissions. We are proud that our estimated annual CO2e emissions are significantly lower than the industry median, reflecting the efforts we are making to minimise our environmental impact. These results provide us with an incentive to continue to seek and apply innovative solutions in the spirit of sustainability.
Club Tihany Resort’s commitment to social responsibility is deeply rooted in our corporate culture, which focuses on employee well-being, equal treatment and community engagement. We believe that social responsibility is not just about a commitment to our environment, but also about respecting and caring for our employees and being actively involved in local communities.
Employee Wellbeing - We are many and diverse.
Our employees are the foundation of our success, so we pay special attention to their well-being and development. Through continuous training and development, we ensure that each and every one of our employees has the knowledge and skills to meet not only today’s challenges, but tomorrow’s too. This includes sustainability and anti-corruption training, which contributes to an ethical and environmentally conscious working environment.
Promoting diversity in the workplace is a top priority. We are proud of the fact that a significant proportion of our workforce is made up of women and that there is strong gender equality in leadership positions. This diversity brings new perspectives and ideas to the workplace, fostering creative problem solving and innovation.
Equal treatment - Equal opportunities for all
Ensuring equal treatment at all levels is a fundamental principle. We apply this principle in the recruitment, selection, promotion and remuneration process, ensuring that all decisions are based on qualifications, skills and performance, regardless of gender, ethnicity or any other factor. Our efforts are complemented by a transparent presentation of gender equality and employee demographics, underlining our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Local Community - Stronger together
Working closely with and supporting local communities is a key part of our corporate social responsibility. We actively participate in environmental and social projects that contribute to improving the quality of life in the local community. These projects include raising environmental awareness, supporting local cultural and sporting events, and strengthening the local economy by favouring local suppliers and businesses.
The Club Tihany Resort’s corporate governance practices are based on a commitment to good governance, transparency and high ethical standards, ensuring that our activities are not only economically, but also socially and environmentally sustainable.
Our sustainability strategy is based on transparency and ethical business practices, complemented by strict compliance with anti-corruption regulations and careful selection of suppliers, with a strong focus on sustainability. All our suppliers are encouraged to share their sustainability goals and practices with us, ensuring that our business activities have a positive impact on the environment and society.
By regularly reporting our sustainability efforts and results, we ensure that our customers, partners and the public are fully informed about the sustainability aspects of our operations. This transparency helps build and maintain trust with all stakeholders.
Our senior management plays a key role in shaping and implementing our sustainability strategy. Our leaders are committed to supporting the work of all those working on sustainability issues, ensuring that our sustainability goals are integrated at all levels of the company.
Commitment to sustainability comes directly from senior management, where those dealing with sustainability issues report directly to the CEO or the Sustainability Committee. This structure allows us to respond quickly to sustainability challenges and opportunities and ensures that our sustainability efforts are at the heart of corporate decision-making.
Club Tihany Resort’s corporate governance practices are based on responsibility, ethics and transparency. These principles guide our activities as we continuously strive to achieve our sustainability goals and to shape our social and environmental impact in a positive direction.
